M822 was founded by Mark Hannah in 1998 under the name Hatch Creative and the name was changed to MARK822 in 2005.
After receiving a degree in Graphic Design from Oregon State University, Mark attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he was awarded various scholarships as well as being selected to participate in student work programs in both the interior design and exterior design studios at Ford Motor Company and Chrysler Motors, respectively, before eventually earning his B.S. degree in Industrial Design, representing his graduating class as the student speaker at commencement ceremonies in April of 1998.
Mark has participated in the development of products for world-class design companies such as Razorfish, Sapient Corp., Walt Disney, and Columbia Pictures. In 2003, he established Hatch Gallery, which offered independent and emerging local artists in Pasadena and surrounding areas an alternative and professional venue to showcase their work. Understanding the importance design serves in developing the much needed solution’s for the future, Mark has taught design at the professional level at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood for over 10 years as well as instructing students at the high school level at Hillside School in La Canada, Ca.
M822 continues to work with a very select group of clients from his office and showroom in Pasadena, while developing his own projects through Thief, a consumer awareness and advocacy think-tank that focuses on sustainable and recyclable solutions through design.
The Turn Table design by M822 was an official selection of the 2007 California Design Biennial at the Pasadena Museam of California Art, in Pasadena.
